Baitcraft accounts are deleted from inside the game, in two taps, with no form to fill in and nobody to ask. This page explains where the control is, exactly what deleting removes, and what to do if you can no longer open the game.
1Delete your account
This is the whole procedure. It takes effect immediately, it needs no approval from us, and it works the same on a guest account and on one you signed into.
- Open Baitcraft.
- Open the Game Menu.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Read the warning and confirm with Delete.
The game returns to its first screen, where you can start again as a guest or with a different account. Uninstalling the game afterwards is optional; nothing of the deleted account is left on the device either way.
2What is deleted
Everything your account holds is erased in a single operation, on our server and on the device in front of you:
- the account record itself β its identifier, its assigned player_ handle, its language, and when it was created and last seen;
- your catches, and what became of each of them;
- your progress points and level, the game time you have played, your statistics and the water you were camped on;
- your gear, how it was rigged, and your silver and gold;
- the lessons you had taken and the switches you had set;
- your Apple and Google sign-in identities, including any verified email address and any name the provider gave us;
- every session on every device you were signed in on, and the ticket the installation used to claim a guest account.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recycle bin, no grace period and no undo, and we cannot restore an account for you afterwards β not even the same day, and not on request. Copies may persist for a short time in our hosting provider's routine database backups, which are encrypted, are never read to serve a player, and age out on their own schedule.
3What is not deleted
- Your device settings
- Language, units, clock format, sound and vibration, scene quality. These are the device's, not the account's, and they never left it. Uninstalling the game removes them.
- Email you have sent us
- If you have written to info@symbiot.dev, that correspondence is held separately from your account and is not reached by deleting it. We keep it for as long as the matter is open and for up to 24 months afterwards. Ask us and we will delete it sooner.
- Your Apple or Google account
- Deleting your Baitcraft account does not touch it. If you would also like to withdraw the game's access at the provider, do it in your Apple or Google account settings.
4If you can no longer open the game
If you have uninstalled Baitcraft, lost the device, or cannot reach the menu for any other reason, write to info@symbiot.dev with the subject "Delete my account" and we will do it for you. We will answer within one month, and normally within a few days.
Tell us which sign-in you used β Apple or Google β and write to us from the address that identity carries, if you can, because that is how we find the account. We will not ask you for more information than we need, and we will never ask you for a password. If you played as a guest and no longer have the installation, see the section below β a guest account is reachable only from the installation that created it, and nothing deletes it for you.
5Guest accounts do not delete themselves
There is no inactivity period after which an account is removed for you. If you played as a guest, delete it in the game before you uninstall β uninstalling takes the ticket the account was reachable by, which leaves it on our server with no way for you to open it again.
If you have already uninstalled, write to us at the address below and tell us roughly when you played and on what device. A guest account carries no email address and no name, so we cannot look one up by who you are β but we will do what we can with what you can tell us.
6The rest of the picture
What we hold and why, who else is involved and what your other rights are is set out in the Privacy Policy. What the account is, and what we do and do not promise about your progress, is in the Terms & Conditions.
